When War reached a ripe old age,
the people of the world began to wonder:
"When will the time come for War to die?"
"Surely War can't go on much longer!"
For it seemed as though he'd been around
since time began.

Most people were ready for War to die.
But some people were very upset.
They were the leaders of the world.
"What will happen if War dies?" they asked themselves.
"How can we stay in power without our old friend?"
So they called a meeting.
All the leaders of the world were invited.
Even the ones who had been fighting each other for years.
And they all came.

After many days and much discussion, everyone agreed:
"We cannot live without War!
War must not be allowed to die."
