THE city's Museo Dabawenyo will play host to the Philippine leg of the "Tour de Paix" (Peace Counts on Tour), an exhibit of photo essays on creative and successful peacemakers.
Three photographers sponsored by the Peace Counts Foundation documented successful peace efforts and peacemakers in 30 conflict zones worldwide including Pikit in North Cotabato.
Its aim is to teach people how to overcome barriers.
"The works of Fr. Bert Layson will be featured," Patricia said Melizza Ruivivar, chief of staff of the City Mayor and the OIC director of Museo Dabawenyo, during Thursday's I-Speak forum.
Ruivivar said that the organizers chose the city because it is known for peaceful diversity.
"They want to show people that world peace is indeed possible through Davao. The city will be their only stop in the Philippines," Ruivivar said.
The three exhibitors are Uli Reinhardt, co-founder of the Zeitenspiegel Agency; Frieder Blickle, one of Germany's best-known photographers and a member of the global photo agency Bilderberg; and Paul Hahn, a freelance photo designer whose master’s project was recognized by the Bund Freier Fotodesigner as the best in Germany.
