Every two years, the Berghof Research Center for Constructive Conflict Management awards different projects across Germany with the "Hans-Goetzelmann-Prize for the Culture of Conflict". The chosen projects are ones in which children and youth have taken on a constructive role in dealing with conflicts. The "Hans-Goetzelmann-Prize" was started in 2001 for the 70th birthday of the founder of the Berghof Center, Professor Georg Zundel. In addition, the prize is considered to be a contribution to the UN's Decade for a Culture of Peace. The Institute for Peace Education is the central office for coordinating the prize.
